Tectonic is informed by geology textbooks of Canadian crustal and sedimentary systems yet it forgoes verbatim representations of these geologic structures. Instead formalist, nonspecific geometric striations and markings are utilized to convey a sense of movement and tension. Small metallic, iridescent, and gloss markings invite us to take a closer inspection. And there, buried within, hidden worlds emerge rewarding those who peel back the layers of these landscapes.
